Sound Dampening

Dampen or eliminate unwanted HVAC duct noise with Clevaflex’s Acoustical Flexible Ducts, High Velocity Attenuators and Inline Duct Silencers, which provide superior sound attenuation capabilities for all types of HVAC and home theater systems.

Our Acoustic Flexible Duct cores are constructed from one ply of perforated and corrugated aluminum with interlocked seams, folded flat and knurled for flexibility and strength.  The flexible aluminum duct core is then wrapped in a blanket of fiberglass insulation.

Depending on the product, the fiberglass is either sleeved in a polyethylene vapor barrier or a reinforced metalized polyester vapor barrier, or encased in an exterior sleeve constructed of 2-plys of aluminum permanently fused together and corrugated creating a continuous inner and outer airtight surface.

These flexible ducts can be used to dampen the sounds caused by terminal boxes, pressure blowers, high-velocity small discharge fans, straight conditions, or noise from other rooms traveling through ductwork.
