Our History
Located in Cleveland, Clevaflex was founded in 1964 to manufacture pre-heater carburetor tubes. As fuel-injected motors became the standard OEM engine, Clevaflex changed with the times and began engineering the tubing that is sold today in the automotive and heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) markets.
Our Process
Our unique manufacturing process enables us to engineer convoluted thermal and exhaust sleeving with multi-ply construction, creating permanently bonded tubing and corrugated single-ply mechanically interlocked flexible ducts that are lightweight, durable and easy to install.
When manufacturing thermally bonded tubing, we wrap individual layers of material together, form and then bond them. To fabricate mechanically interlocked flexible ducts, we form a corrugated ply of material, spirally wind them into a tube and then mechanically lock the seam. Both processes produce a sealed and locked tube that will not unwind when cut to length.
Clevaflex’s vast expertise in the automotive and HVAC industries has helped us develop products ranging in size from 1⁄2 to 18 inches in diameter and utilizing up to five different plies of the material, including: Aluminum, Fiberglass, Colored Mylar, Stainless Steel, Paper, Carbon Steel and Non-woven Fabric.
